The Westerville Division of Police is asking for help to identify three people caught on camera passing fake $100 bills.

Westerville police say two men and a female have repeatedly passed the counterfeit money at businesses not only in the city of Columbus and the surrounding suburbs but as far north as Marysville and as far south as Marietta.

Interim Westerville Police Chief Charles Chandler said the suspects use the fake bills to purchase items like diapers and baby formula, and then turn around and sell those items on the black market for legitimate cash.

"They've defrauded retailers out of thousands of dollars using these fake $100 bills," said Chandler.

Police believe the suspects could be driving a blue Honda Civic. If you have any information about the suspects, contact the Westerville Division of Police tip line at (614) 901-6866.
