COLUMBUS -- Columbus police are looking for a man accused of exposing himself to two children at the Park of Roses in Clintonville Sunday.

Police say the man was in some bushes near the creek at the back of the park.

Two witnesses saw the 8 and 11-year-olds run and scream for help and saw the man try to grab them. He eventually ran off.

“You really don’t know what these people’s intentions are. They may be standing there pleasuring themselves one minute, then they might go after and attack these two innocent girls the next minute,” said Sgt. Dean Worthington.

Police described the man as around 70 years old, about 5-foot-9-inches tall with short, white hair, wearing a white shirt with blue stripe and navy shorts.

Police plan to step up patrols in the park. If you have any information, contact Columbus police at (614) 645-4545.
