COLUMBUS -- A little over 18 months ago, Plank's Bier Garten on South High Street caught fire at 5 a.m. In a few days, it will celebrate its Grand Reopening.

Plank's posted on Facebook that it would be reopening at noon, Sunday, operating its kitchen until 9 p.m. that evening.

The restaurant, located at 888 S. High St., in German Village, closed after a Dec. 7 fire in 2016.

The business suffered severe smoke and water damage.

The Plank family has been serving central Ohioans for three generations.

The family began working in the restaurant business in 1939. In 1960, Walter Plank's son. William Plank, purchased the building that is now Plank's Bier Garten.
