Two senior dogs were dropped off at a humane society in Michigan because their owner said they were ‘old and smelly.’

According to the Humane Animal Treatment Society, the 10-year-old dogs, named Donnie and Marie, were forced to live outside for their entire lives.

“She never showed us any love. Since our young puppy days all I knew was my sister, Marie, and the outdoors,” the shelter wrote in their Facebook post.

In an update, the humane society said both are getting the attention they deserve and are getting pampered.

The humane society is accepting applications for the bonded pair with an owner that is "willing to be patient and work with us undoing the past 10 years."
