Big changes are coming our way. So far, it hasn’t been much better as wind chills continue to hang around in the subzero department.

Temperatures over the past week haven’t been all that bad but the brutal cold is now here, and we’ll likely continue to see subzero wind chills through Thursday evening.

Temperatures will remain well below average on Thursday, but wind chills won’t be as brutal with highs in the teens. Later at night on Thursday, a fast-moving system will bring light snow to parts of central Ohio through the morning hours on Friday.

Snow will be the main form of precipitation across the region, and we’ll likely see light accumulations from this system. Temperatures slowly moderate through the day, but it will still end up below average.

Bigger and more pleasant changes come this weekend. This is where we temperatures will be closer to average and we may even see temperatures in the 40’s — near 50 degrees — by the end of the weekend.

High pressure also looks to hang around, which will keep just a chance of rain in the forecast for the weekend. Temperatures continue to rise into the early part of the week, with highs around 50, but there will be a price to pay.

Rain will return for early next week, which looks like it will add up for some locations. Rain and mild conditions then continue through the mid-week.
