3 semi-finalists named in Columbus City Schools superintendent search

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The list of candidates for the Columbus City Schools superintendent position has been narrowed to three.

The district's board of education voted to approve three semi-finalists on Thursday.

The semi-finalists are:

  • Mr. Terry Dade, an assistant superintendent for Fairfax County Schools in Virginia.
  • Dr. Talisa Dixon, superintendent of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City Schools
  • Ms. Ava Tasker-Mitchell, an instructional director/assistant superintendent of schools for Prince George’s County Public Schools near Washington, D.C.

Three meetings are scheduled for next week for the candidates to meet with community members:

  • Monday at Independence High School
  • Tuesday at Centennial High School
  • Wednesday at Columbus Africentric Early College

All three meetings are from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
