1 dead after shooting in north Columbus

COLUMBUS – A man is dead after a shooting in north Columbus.

According to police, it happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of West Hudson Street and North High Street.

Police told 10TV the victim, 33-year-old Shaun Hinebaugh, was taken to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.

Hinebaugh was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said the suspect, 38-year-old Robert Chenault, is the estranged husband of the victim's girlfriend.

Chenault was arrested as he was leaving the scene with a child who was in the home. The child was not hurt.

Chenault is charged with murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin County Municipal Court on Thursday.
